Home health is your health.

What’s in your water ends up inside your body. Home Health gives the water you drink, cook with and bathe in a full elemental breakdown on our own lab-grade ICP-MS, then logs your home’s results over time, so you know it stays in the safe zone and catch problems early.

Your water

Your city tests the water here. Not at your tap.

Utilities test at the treatment plant and a handful of sample sites. A lot can happen between there and your glass, and a city-wide report can’t tell you what comes out of your faucet, or how your house compares with your neighbor’s.

Baseline and tracking

Know your normal. Catch the change.

Your first test sets your home’s baseline. Each test after that goes on the chart, so a slow change stands out long before it becomes a problem.

And if something does go wrong, like a main break, nearby drilling or a new leak, you’ll have dated before-and-after results for your own home. Testing after a problem starts can’t show what your water was like before.

How it works

From your faucet to your chart.

  1. We send vials

Clean sample vials and simple instructions.

  2. Fill at your taps

Kitchen, bathroom, shower, well. Whatever you want to know about.

  3. Mail them back

Pack them up and send them to our lab.

  4. We measure

A full elemental breakdown on our ICP-MS, down to parts per billion.

  5. Track it

Every element lands in your home’s log, next to your baseline and EPA limits.

Your home’s health log

Every element. Every tap. Over time.

Each test adds a point to your home’s log for every element we measure. Pick a tap and an element to see what it is, where it comes from and how this sample home is trending.

Illustrative data for a sample home. Limits are U.S. EPA drinking-water standards, action levels and guidelines.

Home Health

Water first. Then the rest of your home.

Starting with

Water

Every kind of water you live with: drinking, cooking, bathing. City or well, before and after your filter.

  • Kitchen and bathroom taps, shower, well
  • Two vials set your home’s baseline
  • Every test charted, with anything unusual flagged

Future products

  • AirA square of a used air filter shows what you’re breathing.
  • Surfaces & dustStandard wipes over a measured area of your floors and sills.
  • Furniture & fabricsWhat your couch, carpet and clothes are made of.
  • Food & drinkA shared database of everyday products, retested over time.
  • Cosmetics & lotionsWhat goes on your skin and lips counts too.
  • Fish & gameFor hunters and anglers checking what they bring home.

Full elemental breakdown

Not just lead. Every element in your water.

One sample, one run, the whole picture: the heavy metals you want as close to zero as possible, the plumbing metals that tell you what your pipes are doing, and the minerals that make your water taste the way it does. There’s no known safe level of lead, and EPA’s health goal for lead and arsenic is zero, so for those the goal is simple: less.

  • 82PbLead

No known safe level. Linked to learning and IQ problems in children.

  • 80HgMercury

Harms the brain and nervous system, especially before birth.

  • 48CdCadmium

Builds up in the kidneys over decades.

  • 33AsArsenic

Inorganic arsenic is a known cause of cancer in people.

Every water test also measures

  • Uranium
  • Chromium
  • Antimony
  • Thallium
  • Barium
  • Beryllium
  • Copper
  • Manganese
  • Iron
  • Aluminum
  • Zinc
  • Nickel

FAQ

Questions

What do you test for?

A full elemental breakdown of your water from a single sample: heavy metals like lead, arsenic, mercury, cadmium and uranium; plumbing metals like copper, iron and manganese; and minerals like calcium, magnesium and sodium. Every element lands on your home’s chart.

How sensitive is it?

We measure down to parts per billion on our own ICP-MS, the instrument behind EPA Method 200.8 for metals in drinking water. That’s sensitive enough to see small changes long before they reach EPA limits.

What water can I test?

Any water in your home: kitchen and bathroom taps, the shower, a well, water before and after a filter. City or well, it all works.

My city already tests the water. Why test mine?

City testing happens at the treatment plant and a small number of sample sites. Your pipes, your plumbing and what’s happening near your home can change what comes out of your tap.

How does tracking work?

Your first two vials set your home’s baseline. Every test after that is added to your log, element by element and tap by tap, so you can see trends and get flagged when something moves.

How do I take a sample?

We mail you clean sample vials with simple instructions. Fill them at the taps you want to know about, pack them in the box and send them back to our lab.

What’s the “safe zone”?

Below the EPA limit or guideline for each element. Lead has no known safe level, so we flag any we find, even below EPA’s limit.

How much does it cost?

A single water test is planned at $40 per sample. The Home Health membership, with baseline vials and three more tests a year, will be priced at launch. Waitlist members hear first.
